Art for Feet


I was walking to Nordstrom Cafe to grab lunch and there out of the corner of my eye caught a glistening reflection of light on the perfect pair of shoes that define me as a woman.  Not really… But I have never wanted a pair of shoes more in my life!  My friend Tony, who works in Salon shoes, informed me they literally got them in that morning.  I have a pair of very special Manolo Blahniks and they are similar in style except silver.  I bought them for my 21st birthday.  For a very long time, I have wanted some T-strap Manolo GOLD stilettos, but they never made any.  It’s been years and the shoes of my dreams pop up out of nowhere.  There these were.  I stopped to try them on.  Tony brought me out 5 other pairs of shoes along with those since he knows that I have a ridiculous shoe fetish.  I told him it’s unnecessary, because these are the apples of my eye.  He told me that he has to because they make him.  So I told him to tell them that I said to fuck off, I only want these.

I put a post in my Mode section of my blog, but this is front page worthy.  I am ordering these in my size ASAP!

I Want to Eat @ Morimoto.


World renowned, Iron Chef Morimoto’s restaurants located in Philadelphia, Napa, New York, Tokyo, Mumbai, and Boca Raton, are now hitting Waikiki.  He has also been the head chef, of one of my favorite restaurants here in Waikiki and world wide, Nobu.    Can’t wait to eat there.  They are open for dinner, lunch and breakfast as well as having a seperate lounge menu.  Perhaps I will swing by for a light lunch one day soon.  Friends have told me that the restaurant is very bright, and that takes from the atmosphere, and that they prefer Nobu.  I love the bright lime green decor, beautiful lacquered wooden tables, vibrant violet  orchid pictures, and panoramic glass, with views of who know’s what?  Perhaps this would be a more enjoyable lunch spot, than a dark romantic dinner.

Kai Market @ the Sheraton Waikiki


Last week I had dinner with my parents at the Kai Market, located ocean front at the Sheraton Hotel, Waikiki.  The Hawaiian contemporary decor of Kai opens to an open lanai, ocean front, with live bands, and hula and fire dancers.  The buffet had a variety of seafood from shrimp to clams and fresh fish.  I tried the fresh bok choy, some macadamia nut crusted lamb chops with mint jelly, and the prime rib as well.   The desert Bar was fabulous.  I had a custard with a sweet jelly like garnish that looks like Ikura (large fish eggs), and mango pudding.  They had a variety of delicious deserts from fresh chi chi dango mochi or coconut crusted daifuku (azuki bean mochi), and portuguese sweet bread pudding, key lime pie, coconut tapioca, and chocolate haupia pie and trifles.  All the seafood went well with the Sauvignon Blanc I ordered as well.  Definitely one of my favorite buffets, along side with my favorite brunch spots, Hoku’s at the Kahala Mandarin, and Orchids, at the 5 star Halekulani.

Hours: Breakfast 6:00 a.m.–11 a.m. | Dinner 5:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m.
