Single Parenting through Difficult Times

This whole postpartum experience has been immobilizing and has given me an opportunity to spend more time talking to Kai.  We use to be closer.  She is 11 and I’m trying to salvage our relationship before she becomes a teenager I don’t know. We are very close.

People asked me why I didn’t reach out to family.  Well, we’re very different people and their idea of support is imposing their mormon beliefs on me that this was for the best because I’m not married and whatever else they’re thinking.  Although I know their intentions are well, those are not the right words for me right now.

I noticed Kai’s math grades slipping and I had to believe it has to do with all the stress happening at home.  She has been skimming her reading instead of slowing down and internalizing.  It must be really an unhappy place for her to come home to right now.  I feel like I haven’t been doing enough for her.  And I want to take the opportunity to do focus my energies on her.  The last few months have been all about me and I feel I’ve been neglecting her needs emotionally.

Kai is a smart cookie and she has so much potential and talent.  She should be in sports, learning a foreign language, learning an instrument and art and digital media.  She said she wants to play chess.  I think that is a good idea for her cerebral side.  And chess is good to keep the brain sharp and for logic development.  We cleaned out the bookshelf yesterday and are going to get some new books for her to read.  It’s really simple how a little bit of attention and encouragement can positively effect a child’s development.

I read the power of a name report… Kai is an Aries, a leader natural and her name Carolanne implies great power.  My parent technique of being stern is negative for her growth and may hinder her natural leader tendencies.  I have to learn how to be encouraging instead of downing her talents.  As parents we have to learn what is the most conducive technique to hone their best potential.  Kai generally is a good kid, but when I caught her lying about wearing my $180 fly knits which were now stained in red dirt, she was grounded immediately.  She didn’t even fight me when I gave her “how could you do this to mommy when she’s going through a hard time” look.  She knew what she had done.  So I will keep her on grounding until the cleans them.

The most difficult thing I’ve been trying to figure out is how to get her to communicate.  When discussing hard subjects she changes the subjects and avoids it.  I have to drag out the hard emotions which usually end up in tears.  But it’s usually through impatient force I get her to tell me what’s really going on.  I’ve gotten her to open up on some subjects related to her father not being around, and her anger towards me for being a busy single mom, and now how she didn’t feel happy about her baby sister dying and how it was hard for her to help hold mommy down while I was sick and she was really unhappy.  It was a hard time for everyone.  I held her in my arms and hugged her and we hung out and played video games and did Nu Skin mud masks. (:

I’m still clueless what’s the positive way to get her to communicate with me.  She is so guarded..  very secretive.  I notice her friends talking about boys because she borrows my cell phone to text them or sometimes her conversations from my ipad connect to my iPhone.  I don’t even see anything she says about boys.  If she has an interest in boys, she is very guarded about them, unlike her gossipy friends.  It’s so cute how she is at that age now. (: I’m glad she is making more friends at school now.  I guess it’s time for that phone.

I’m going to put Kai in some kind of physical activities.  Either she can continue boxing and Muay Thai at UFC gym or swimming or sport of choice.  Have her learn a foreign language, possibly Japanese or Chinese.  She wants to play chess.  She doesn’t want to learn piano like her mom, but I’ll let her decide what kind of instrument she wants to play. And I will continue to help her hone her artistic skills.  I’m very proud she won an art contest and her art was displayed at the Academy Art Museum.  A little bit of attention can go a long way in giving a child what she needs.  And I feel so horrible I have neglected some of her needs these last few months while I had a complicated pregnancy.

This experience has waken me up to not take time for granted.  Time is precious.  I felt like I had screwed up with Kai.  I had her at a young age and didn’t share the enthusiasm I do now at turning her into a mini me.  I had wanted a baby so I could have a second chance to do it right and create something amazing, but I forgot that I already have a mini piccasso who still needs me. ❤

I do want to try have a baby again some time in the next 4 years before I turn 35.  It’ll be with complications but I know now what those issues are and how to face them.  I want another little girl. (: But for now I’ll work on my first masterpiece a little bit longer.

Taxing us to Live.

Although I think it’s a good idea to take care of the planet, could the extreme measures we have gone to save the planet a way to brainwash America into a political scheme, be an avenue to change laws, and manipulate the country?  Sounds skeptical to me.

Sure, we should use less gas.  It’s expensive.  Carpool to work.   Find alternative sources for automobiles, and to heat our homes.  Maybe use less aerosol hairspray and products.  But carbon taxing?  Taxing us on breathing?  Taxing us on having babies?   To a New World Bank?  Who do they think they are to tax us on what the government does not yield, control, create, nor what never belonged to them?   That is extreme, and our only humanly right is to breathe and live and create life.

Creating a New World Bank, and a New World Government, will lead to New World Order.  Although there are people who oppose it, and it may take a very long time to create, because the consitution protects us, there is always the threat that there are a group of wealthy people in the world, who control it all, looking for a way to make this idea become reality.  Save America, and save the consitution, because America has one of the greatest constitutions protecting us, if wielded correctly.  But that power has been abused, by the puppet masters, the banks, the Illuminati, the Bilderberg Group, whoever you wish to call it.  Greedy people who believe that they should rule over all of us.  Most people call it conspiracies.  I believe in it.   NWO believe in population control, and that is exactly what Carbon Taxing on babies wishes to accomplish.  Less population.  By brainwashing America into believing in Global Warming, they are slowly acclimating us into believe in their ideas.

[“If you allotted 1250 square feet to each person, all the people in the world would fit into the state of Texas…”In Ralph Epperson’s book, The Unseen Hand, he states that if you took the population of the world and split it up into families of four and gave them each a piece of land 50′ x 53′, the entire population of the planet would fit neatly into the state of Oregon.Worried about feeding everyone?Brian Carnell in How Much Food is Available Now? Says, “The world currently produces more than enough food to provide every single man, woman and child alive today with an adequate diet…”What About China?“China, everyone’s favorite supposed example, has fewer than 60 percent as many people per square mile as the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Obviously, then, China’s problem is not overpopulation, but underdevelopment. Many people think that population growth prevents the economic growth of poor nations, but a number of economists now suggest the opposite: every new person brings not only another mouth to feed, but two hands with which to work. Misguided efforts to help poor countries by suppressing their natural population growth may actually hurt them.”So, what if everyone DID have more children?Professor Budziszewski writes, “Fertility is already declining in every region of the world, and population growth has been slowing down since the late 1970s. In the developed countries, the net reproduction rate is 0.7 and dropping, which means that the next generation will be only 70 percent as large as this one. Nicholas Eberstadt of the American Enterprise Institute suggests that we may one day face not an explosion but an “implosion” of population.”]  I found this comment on a blog.

Ice this year is significantly greater than the last.  What happened to Global Warming and the icebergs melting? The main stream media concentrates on a couple of small areas of the Antarctic in order to scare you in to believing that Antarctica is melting, when in fact its gaining ice.

Those behind global warming are using it to control people’s lives and for financial gain.

Is Global Warming a hoax?  You decide.

Breathing isn’t a privilege you can control.  It is our humanly right to live.  I can see myself in prison next to some thuggish 7-11 liquor store robbers…

“What are you in for?”

“Breathing.”

The healing powers of MORINGA “the Miracle Tree”

I first was introduced to Moringa during a stressful time when I was about 7 months pregnant.  I was extremely sick and throwing up and could barely keep any food down.  Not even a fruit popsicle.  Tired of staying at my boyfriend’s house, I went to my parents house.  My Mom said she had just gotten a new drink called Zija.

I had been sick for months.  At first it tasted kind of funny, like a slightly sweet light guava juice with wheat grass in it.  It had a small bite at the tip of the tongue, but that goes away after you get use to it. It tastes better chilled and comes in a tiny can made from a different type of material other than aluminum because that preserves it’s shelf life and doesn’t give off the harmful poisons most of us aren’t knowledgeable  about that aluminum cans do.

I immediately had energy, and ate a huge dinner.  I drank Zija for the rest of my pregnancy and felt great and energetic and had few problems.  Inspired by my personal experiences I decided to become a marketer for Zija.  As it is a MLM company, some people can shy away from that.  But MLM companies can be highly successful if you can set up your downline correctly.  My dad spent $10,000 on big shipments of Zija and brought them out to sell personally.  He bought it under someone under me, so I got commission as well, as the company has a 10 level pay out system.  I drank Zija for years, but unfortunately as the bad economy hit, so did my income, and a $100 a month for 30 cans was just too much. The thing that was interesting about Zija is that there was a formula (I believe it was called Z-atin) they had in it that made your body utilize all the nutrients and absorb more of all that healthy goodness than your body normal would.  This was an all natural drink.  No preservatives, no colors, no artificial flavors.

The main ingredient is a common tree called Moringa.  In Hawaii the Filipino’s all have it growing in their yard.  They call it Calamungi.  In Africa, it is called Malawi.  Madonna’s charitable organization, “Raising Malawi”  in the city of Lilongwe is about growing plants because of their great nutritional and healing values.  It started with Madonna planting a Moringa tree.

The benefits of Moringa are many.

  • 7 types of Vitamins
  • 6 types of Minerals
  • 18 types of Amino acids
  • 46 types Anti-oxidants
  • High concentration of natural Anti-inflammatory agents
  • Natural Anti-toxins, Anti- tumors, Anti-bacterial and Anti fungal.

Moringa Oleifera main medicinal uses:

  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Cleans the body from toxins and heavy metals
  • Extermination of parasites in the intestines
  • Supporting treatment during radiation and chemotherapy
  • Supporting treatment during lack of appetite in children and adults
  • Helping with Osteoporosis treatment
  • Supporting with Diabetes treatment
  • Intestine infections
  • Gum infections
  • Prostate infection
  • Various skin diseases
  • Breathing disease
  • Head aches and Migraines
  • Arthritis
  • Gout
  • Hair Loss

A bottle of Moringa capsules could cost as much as $40! But I might just buy them so I don’t have to deal with mess of powder.

An inexpensive alternative?  My mom now grows her own Moringa trees and dries the leaves and makes it into a powder.  It is easy to care for, is drought resistant, can be grown in poor conditions, and dirt with low ph levels and doesn’t require much care.  Moringa is a wild growing, hardy tree.  Although it is hard to mix with water, as all the pieces of leaves float and don’t mix well, it still is highly effective when I am sick.

Discovery Channel Documentary of Moringa

Giving birth to Kai was easy, even though she was almost 8 lbs.  She’s a big girl, and is the biggest child in her classroom.  Perhaps she is so healthy and big because of my use of Zija when I was pregnant.  When she was little I continued to give her Zija.   She was healthy and didn’t have her first flu until she was over 1 year old.  It’s also a great alternative to boost your work out.  All those nasty supplements on the market can be harmful for your body.  Who am I to talk?  I have been living on Lipo6 for months now.

Nature’s AIDs therapy

Out of all the Moringa forms I have tried, I believe the Zija drink is the most effective.  Maybe because of the Z-Atin formula created to boost the effects.  But possibly, it is a placebo in my head.
