the Passion of Christ

I know it’s an old movie, but I just got around to watching it.  Although I do not consider myself a religious person, Mel Gibson’s graphic version of the last 12 hours of Jesus’s life is moving.  I have never cried more in a movie in my life. It was Mel Gibson’s intention to release the movie in Aramic, Latin, without subtitles.  I began watching it without subtitles, and I think the film alone portrays the story without any words.  I find it so inhumane that everybody supported the mutiny of Jesus and could stand there to watch an innocent man die for the pure sake of hate and entertainment.    I don’t even think Osama Bin Laden should endure that.  What made me more upset is that not one person could stand up for him and every single person denied him.

I watched it last night with someone who is Catholic.  In this movie, they portray him with his feet crossed, a Catholic tradition.  Orthodox Christian’s keep their feet straight.  Mormon’s prefer not to display the cross at all.  Although the movie was greatly criticized by all churches, I think they are all so focused on little details, that they forget the purpose of the movie.

What would you do?

Love one another.
